Writing throughout the semester
Throughout this semester i learned a lot about myself as a writer. Free writing helped me be more open with my writing and not care about it sounding weird or maybe even stupid to others. Although sometimes it is very frustrating because i am not the best writer and to be honest it is not one of my favorite things to do. The peer reviews in class were also interesting because you get opinions from other classmates and also get to see how their writing compares to yours.

That is actually one of the things I had to fully grasp; that freeewriting isn't about being precise and using careful wording and puncuation in your journal when private writing, since that is the main point. Freewriting is expected to be messy and incoherent as it's not meant to be evaluated by others. In fact, freewriting can serve as an exercise from practicing bad habits as a writer: staring into a blank screen.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved to free write helps me get my frustrations out, Never have I thought that it would help me compose an essay and a decent one for that matter.
ReplyDeleteFree writing is definitely my favorite part of ENG-104. You're able to get everything off your chest and you don't have to be worried about judgment or criticism from others. Free writing is overall a great technique.
